Cody Chassels and Danny Dahms continued their offensive
dominance on Saturday, combining to score five goals and recording
two assists as the Falcons defeated Trine University 9-4 at Fitting
Field.
Dahms, who came into the contest with 17 goals and two assists,
finished with three goals and one assist against the Thunder. The
freshman scored two critical goals in the fourth quarter, securing
the CUW win after Trine got as close as 6-3.
Chassels, who had 18 goals and six assists entering
Saturday, tallied two first half goals and recorded a fourth
quarter assist.
CUW jumped in front 2-0 after the first segment and led 5-1 at
halftime. Trine battled to within 6-3 and 8-4 before Sam Wladyka
delivered the knockout punch with his second goal of the
afternoon.
While improving to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Midwest Lacrosse
Conference, the Falcons won their sixth straight game Concordia
received a strong 11 save performance from their goalkeeper Zack
Davis. Both teams finished with 30 shots but the Thunder fell to
6-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
The Falcons look to keep on rolling next Saturday at Mt. St.
Joseph, before visiting Carthage College. Concordia returns home
with five straight games to wrap-up the regular season beginning on
Saturday April 16th at 1pm against Fontbonne.
