MEQUON, Wis. - It was a team effort on Thursday evening for the Concordia University Wisconsin volleyball team as they swept Silver Lake College, 3-0 (25-7, 25-3, 25-7) inside the R. John Buuck Field House to conclude their non-conference portion of the schedule.
The Falcons served 28 aces in the victory and were led by sophomore Ashley Faber's (Kewaskum, Wis.) six service aces. Freshman Taylor Grenlie (Waupaca, Wis.) recorded five service aces in her first action of the season. Junior Christi Rever (Decatur, Ill.) smashed five kills to lead the offense.
CUW (2-13) hit .316 on the evening and was able to play 18 players on its roster.
The Falcons return to Northern Athletics Conference play for the remainder of the season with a Tuesday, Sept. 27 contest against Benedictine University at 7 p.m. inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The match was originally scheduled as a road match, but due to facilities issues it was moved to Mequon, Wis.
