Results: Tadd Metzger Invitational
KENOSHA,
Wis. - Making their second trip to Kenosha in just three
weeks, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's and women's track
& field teams competed at the Tadd Metzger Invitational meet at
Carthage College this weekend.
University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point placed first on the men's side with 165
points, while host Carthage College took the women's crown with
157.5 points.
The Falcon men finished
seventh with 30 points, while the CUW women placed eighth with 28
points.
On the men's side,
senior Vincent Greefkes (Jackson, Wis.) earned first place honors
in the 55m Hurdles, posting a winning time of 7.85 seconds.
In the 4x400m Relay,
CUW took fourth place as the team of freshman Ryan Gardner
(Winneconne, Wis.), sophomore Jonny Balsman (Rockford, Ill.),
senior Alex Pawlak (Colgate, Wis.), and sophomore Sean Pawlak
(Germantown, Wis.) finished in 3:28.53 minutes.
Other standout
performers included sophomore Jordan Guenther (Horicon, Wis.) and
junior Ryan Perry (Naperville, Ill.) finished fifth and seventh,
respectively, 5,000m Run, while senior Alex Pawlak placed seventh
in the 200m Dash with a time of 23.48 seconds.
For the women,
sophomore Jessica Hennig (Springfield, Ill.) took third place in
the 800m Run with a time of 2:31.26, while junior Bethany Doerr
(Chilton, Wis.) and freshman Samantha Nelson (Frederic, Wis.)
placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 5,000m Run.
Another noteworthy
performance was contributed by the women's 4x400 Relay team of
Hennig, sophomore Kristin Sitte (Greenfield, Wis.), freshman Emily
Mauermann (Janesville, Wis.), and freshman Katie Dickes (Kenosha,
Wis.), which placed fifth with a time of 4:23.34 minutes.
Both teams will have a
week of practice before returning to Kenosha on Saturday, to take
part in the Parkside Track & Field Classic at UW-Parkside.
