Wis. - After suffering a 12-8 loss to Oberlin College on
Saturday, the Concordia University Wisconsin women's lacrosse team
will look to remain unbeaten in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference
play when they host North Central College at Fitting Field on
Tuesday afternoon.
Game time is set for 4 p.m., and live
stats will be available for any fans unable to attend.
CUW (1-5, 1-0 MWLC) captured its first victory in
program history against Fontbonne University on March 25, but fell
to Oberlin after the Yeowomen scored six unanswered goals to run
away with the win.
The Falcons' Sammi Reiter (Stillwater, Minn.) was
named MWLC Player of the Week on Monday, after the first-year
midfielder scored 10 combined goals in the games against Fontbonne
and Oberlin. She tallied a single-game-tying program record six
goals against the Yeowomen.
Reiter has been the focal point of CUW's offense so
far this season, and leads the MWLC in goals (24) and goals per
game (4.00). On the defensive end, freshman goalie
Rebecca David ranks second in the conference in saves per game,
averaging 10.17 stops a game.
NCC (2-5, 0-0 MWLC) is coming off an 18-11 victory
against the University of Puget Sound on Sunday, and will be
kicking off their conference schedule against the Falcons.
The Cardinals are led by junior Danielle Fiala, who has
scored 19 goals on 35 shots this season.
