MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin dropped a nail-biter to their rival Lakeland, 84-82 on Tuesday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons did rally back late in the game but the Muskies would hit some clutch free throws in the final seconds to take the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland made over 50 percent of their shots in the first half to give them a 10 point lead going into the intermission. The Muskies would lead by as much as 14 in the first half.
- Coming out of the intermission, CUW picked up the defensive intensity and forced multiple turnovers to slowly chip away at Lakeland's lead.
- With under three minutes of the game, the Falcons pulled within one after a layup by Taron Edwards (Racine, Wis.). The Muskies would counter with a basket of their own pushing their lead back to three, but it was Edwards again with the answer as he hit a deep 3-pointer to tie the game with 1:50 remaining.
- Lakeland still would not go away as they retook the lead moments later with about a minute and a half left in the game. With the shot clock running down on the Falcons, junior guard Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) hit a deep 3-pointer giving CUW the lead with just over a minute left to play. Kittel finished the game with 16 points.
- However, the Muskies would make 3-of-4 free throws in the final 40 seconds to take the 84-82 win. The Falcons did attempt a last second shot for the win but the attempt was blocked at the buzzer.
- Edwards led CUW with 21 points for the game and was one of four Falcons to reach double digits on the night.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- CUW made a season low, six 3-pointers on the night when they were averaging just over 10 3-pointers made per game coming into tonight's matchup.
- Edwards 21 points on the night, is a new career-high for the senior guard.
- Sophomore guard, Josh Erickson (Manitowoc, Wis.) finished the night with a career-high 13 points.
THE OPPOSITION
- Travis Kell finished with a double-double on the night. He scored a game-high 25 points and pulled in a game-high 12 rebounds to lead the Muskies. Pat McDonald also added 16 points in the win.
NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons travel down to Dominican on Saturday, Dec. 5 for their second meeting of the season with the Stars. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
