Mount Holyoke overwhelms Women's Lacrosse

BRADENTON, Fla. – Mount Holyoke College scored four goals in the first three minutes and 17 seconds on Thursday and continued its offensive show during a 16-5 non-conference victory over Concordia University Wisconsin.

The Falcons managed to score just a pair of goals in the first half and found themselves down 12-2 at the intermission. CUW did score back-to-back goals to start the final 30 minutes of play, but Mount Holyoke answered with four-consecutive scores.

The Lyons won 14-of-23 draw controls and had a 28-19 advantage in ground balls. They also outshot the Falcons 30-19, including 23-10 on goal. Neither team was successful on the free position, as CUW finished 0-of-3 and Mount Holyoke was 1-of-4.

In all, five different Falcons found the back of the net, with freshman Amanda McKay (Portland, Ore.) and senior Hannah Redden (Libertyville, Ill.) each assisting on a goal. McKay led the team with five ground balls and junior Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) picked up four ground balls. Junior Katherine Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.) and senior Hayley Peppers (Franktown, Colo.) each had two caused turnovers.

Julia Bell led all players with five goals, while Kristen Kilburn and Catherine Ryan had four and three goals, respectively. Charlotte Wagner also scored twice. Ryan dished out a game-high five assists. Kilburn had an impressive game, as she picked up six ground balls, won five draw controls and caused five turnovers.

CUW (1-3) returns to the field on Sunday for its Midwest Women's' Lacrosse Conference opener at 1 pm against Loras College at Fitting Field.
