STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Two first period power play goals by Cara Lemirande proved to be the difference as the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team dropped its 2015-16 finale at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon. Lemirande struck twice in the first period and each team added a goal in the third, resulting in a 3-1 final. The Falcons finish their season with an 8-15-2 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period was all Lemirande as she had the only two scores, both on the power play. The first came 7:39 into play, while the second was scored with one minute remaining before the first intermission.
- Senior Katherine Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.) made the score 2-1 6:03 into the third period when she struck for her fourth goal of the season. Junior Baylee Darling (Holmen, Wis.) assisted on the Darling score.
- The Pointers went back up two just 2:37 later as Lexi Englund made it a 3-1 game. That would be all the scoring in the non-conference contest.
- Freshman Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) played well in defeat for the Falcons, stopping an impressive 42 shots. CUW was outshot 45-10 on Saturday.
- CUW had a season-high 27 penalty minutes on Saturday. Prior to that, the Falcons had yet to tally more than 16 penalty minutes in a game this season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons conclude their season with an 8-15-2 record. CUW finished fifth in the NCHA this season.
- The game also wrapped up the careers of seniors Pauletti, Lexi Machuga (Rochester Hills, Mich.), Hannah Zobel (Reedsburg, Wis.), Chelsea Regan (Oakdale, Minn.), Jayda Hoerres (Melrose, Wis.) and Nina Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.).
