HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second game in a row it all came down to the seconds of play with Marian leading 72-71, Falcons senior Trevor Krizenesky (Brillion, Wis.) went the length of the floor with six seconds remaining and put up a 15-foot jumper with one second left on the clock that bounced off the rim and backboard before it finally fell through the net, electrifying the crowd and giving CUW the 73-72 win.
- Krizenesky's game winer was just two of his game-high 24 points on the night.
- In a game that was back and forth for nearly the entire 40 minutes of play, the lead changed hands multiple times in the final four minutes of play, but neither team led by more than three. No team led by more than eight the entire game.
- CUW did not shoot the ball overly well on the night only making 39.1 percent (27-of-69) of their field goal attempts, but that 27th made basket could not have come at a better time.
- Senior forward Keith Kahlfeldt (New Berlin, Wis.) and junior guard Eric Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) poured in 14 and 11 points, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Krizenesky's 24 points is a new career-high for the senior guard. He was also the only bench player to score for the Falcons on the night.
- CUW has now won five straight NACC contests.
THE OPPOSITION
- Marian was led by Alex Manhardt who also scored a game-high 24 points and pulled in nine rebounds.
NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons take on Wisconsin Lutheran at home next Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
