HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons were clicking on all cylinders with an outstanding .500 hitting percentage to run away from the Vikings in the early going. The offense then cooled a touch while the defense came to play and made it difficult for North Park all night long by recording 12.5 total blocks.
- During the opening set, sophomore James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) had six kills on nine attempts without committing an error. Junior Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) had four kills of his own, sophomore Cody Sciabica (Henderson, Nev.) and freshman Andy Ellingham (Burlington, Wis.) each had three blocks to give the visitors a boost in momentum.
- The second set was balanced with six different Falcons recording a kill. During the third and final set, Althoff stepped up again with five kills and Sciabica smashed three kills. Freshman Dylan Griffith (Middleton, Wis.) performed very well in the third set with seven digs to end the night with 13 digs.
- Althoff had 12 kills, 12 digs and three service aces in the match, while Schwandt hit .364 at the net and recorded six blocks (one solo). Senior Matthew Korman (Roscoe, Ill.) assisted on 29 kills and recorded five kills of his own. Sciabica posted seven kills and five blocks. Ellingham had five blocks at the net, with one being of the solo variety.
- All five of Concordia Wisconsin's victories this season have been by 3-0 sweeps.
- North Park was led by Frank Mauigoa who had 11 kills and 10 digs.
