BROWN DEER, Wis. – The CUW men's golf team opened the 2020-21 season on Saturday afternoon at the Brown Deer Golf Course. The Falcons battled the through and wet conditions on the back nine, but fell to Wisconsin Lutheran, 313-296.
Junior Jordan Carlton (Kewaskum, Wis.) led the flock in third place at 73 strokes on the day. Carlton collected three-straight birdies beginning on holes four through six.
Senior Dylan Karvala (New Berlin, Wis.) finished the day tied for fifth place at 77 strokes. Karvala notched three birdies on the front nine.
Tied for ninth place was senior Nate Benjamin (Tucson, Ariz.) at 80 strokes. The highlight of the day was a birdie on the par-four ninth hole for Benjamin.
Freshman Nick Klemm (Sussex, Wis.) and sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) finished tied for 12th place at 83 strokes. Sherman was able to collect a birdie on hole five.
Senior Cody Faber (Wilmot, Wis.) rounded out the CUW lineup in a tie for 14th place at 84 strokes.
The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 for the two-day WLC Invitational at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford, Wisconsin.
