Carpenter crushes the competition in women's golf season opener

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's golf team opened the season with a dual match against Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday afternoon. The Warriors took a 423-445 victory at the River Club in the Falcons' first match of the year.

Senior Amy Carpenter (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) shot a career-best round of 89 on Friday. She was 11 strokes ahead of second place.

 Freshman Kila Eckmann (Waukesha, Wis.) finished in fifth place at 114 strokes.

In seventh place was freshman Rebecca Curley (Winthrop Harbor, Ill.) at 118 strokes.

Freshman Anna Rousseau (Hartford, Wis.) made her collegiate debut in ninth place with 124 strokes.

At 128 strokes was freshman Kayla Samann (Campbellsport, Wis.) in 12th place.

Sophomore Hanah Conger (Davenport, Iowa) rounded out the flock at 136 strokes in 14th place.

The Falcons will return to action on Oct. 2 for the two-day WLC Triangular.
