DANVILLE, Ky. –The CUW field hockey team finished up the weekend in Kentucky on Sunday with a game against Roanoke. The Falcons fell 6-1 to move to 4-7 on the season.
The Maroons jumped out to a 5-0 lead during the first half.
Freshman Paige Armijo (Reseda, Calif.) put the Falcons on the scoreboard with a goal in the 50th minute off a cross from sophomore Abby McGue (St. Louis, Mo.).
Junior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) collected nine saves on Sunday.
The Maroons held a 27-4 advantage in shots in the contest.
Junior AnnaLyssia Abela (Dearborn, Mich.) led CUW with two shots.
Abby McGue also collected a defensive save against the Maroons.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Saturday at home against Transylvania.
