MEQUON, Wis. – The week saw Falcon titles on both sides of the spectrum last week. The first team to compete in the second half of the week was the Overwatch team. The Falcons went 3-0 in the META Academy to bring their season record to 4-1. In their Thursday matchup with SIUC, the Falcons took the pairing with a final score of 2-1 which lands them with a 3-1 record in the NECC League.
The Rainbow 6 Siege team took a tough loss after coming off of a bye week to Murray State with final scores of 5-7 and 0-7. The Falcons look to bounce back from this loss and use it as a stepping stone to get back on track.
The Fortnite squad of sophomore Steven Pieroni (Danvers, Mass.), junior Colby Williams (Myrtle Beach, S.C.), and sophomore Anthony Garron (Danvers, Mass.) competed in the PlayVS Trios Finals on Thursday. The team placed 16th in their finals appearance.
The Valorant team lost a heartbreaker against Sacred Heart University. This matchup saw the Falcons take the first game with a score of 13-10, but drop the last two 4-13 and 10-13 to drop the matchup 1-2. Adam Hedman, a sophomore from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, led the Falcons in eliminations with 77 and 16 assists.
The last title to play for the week was the League of Legends team notching a 2-0 victory over Arcadia. The elimination leader for the Falcons was junior Andre Stewart (Green Bay, Wis.) landing 22 eliminations and 11 assists.
The Falcons look toward their upcoming week and a packed schedule. On Monday, the Rocket League team will face a strong opponent in Clemson. Clemson looks to hand the Falcons their first loss while the Falcons look to uphold their undefeated season.
There is no bigger rivalry than an in-house battle. On Tuesday, the Smash Bros "A" team will take on the "B" team in an inter-squad matchup. The winner of this pairing will move into first place in the standings.
Coming off of their first loss of the season, the Rainbow 6 Siege team looks to get back on the horse in their matchup versus Baker on Wednesday.
