MEQUON, Wis. – As the Fall begins to wind down for the CUW esports teams, there are still a couple competing.
On Nov. 18, the Fortnite squad took on the PlayVS Trios Finals. The Falcons placed 20th in the tournament.
The same day, the Overwatch team competed in the NECC League Quarterfinals. In a week two rematch, the Falcons took the first game with a score of 2-0. They went on to drop the second and third games to push the series to a 1-2 deficit. In a win or go home game four, the Falcons edged out Carroll University to tie up the matchup. The fifth and final game went the way of the Pioneers with a game score of 1-2. The final matchup score was 2-3 eliminating the Overwatch team in the quarterfinals.
Some titles are just beginning their championship run. The League of Legend team kicks off their postseason in a matchup with Lees-McRae on Nov. 22. The Falcons swept Lees-McRae in the regular season. Another team that is competing in this shortened week is the Valorant team who faces Alabama-Huntsville on the 22nd as well. The Valorant squad sits at the fifth seed ready to light the world on fire when they make their deep playoff run.
