GENEVA, Ill. – The CUW women's hockey team fell short in a non-conference matchup on Friday evening. The Spartans skated away with a 3-2 victory to send the Falcons to 7-4-1 on the year.

Freshman Olivia Kurtz (Plainfield, Ill.) found the back of the net for the first goal of the afternoon off assists from freshman Amanda Bauer (Waunakee, Wis.) and freshman Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ont.).

The Spartans took the lead with the next three goals in the game.

Freshman Erika Graham (Brighton, Mich.) scored in the third period off a pass from senior Sarah Pearson (South Range, Wis.).

The Spartans splattered 53 shots on the Concordia net on Friday. With CUW finishing the day with 31.

Junior Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) collected 50 saves in the net.

The Spartans improved to 9-2-0 on the year with the victory.

The Falcons look to even the weekend series at home on Saturday night.
