ACHA Hockey outlasts Adrian in overtime

ADRIAN, Mich. – The CUW ACHA men's hockey team defeated the Adrian College Bulldogs in overtime on Friday night in Michigan. The victory propels CUW to 4-6-0 on the year.

The Bulldogs bit the Falcons with a pair of first-period goals to take a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The Falcons struck back with four second-period goals.

Sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) scored the first two of the three Concordia goals to give the Falcons the lead. Sophomore Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.) tied the game on a penalty shot.

Freshman Nick Roberts (Milwaukee, Wis.) closed the second-period scoring.

The Black and Gold tied up the game in the third period.

Junior Alec Murano (St. Peters, Mo.) was the overtime hero with the goal from freshman John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) and senior Andrew Doepp (New Lenox, Ill.).

Sophomore Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) finished the game with 24 saves.

The two teams will compete again on Saturday in Wisconsin.
