MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's volleyball team battled hard for three sets, but fell short to MSOE on Thursday, 24-26, 16-25, 16-25. MSOE was receiving votes in this week's AVCA rankings improves to 3-1 on the year and to 2-0 in the NACC and sends CUW to 1-3 and 1-2 in NACC play.

The two teams battled throughout the first set and exchanged the lead a handful of times. The Falcons reached set point at 24-21 with an MSOE attacking error, but the Raiders stormed back to take the set, 26-24.

The Red and White tacked on an early 5-0 lead in the second set and never looked back. The Falcons did not quit on the set and won five-straight points behind the serve of junior James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) to cut the deficit to 15-22.

The Raiders once again took an early lead in the third set and clinched the match.

Freshman Spencer Herman led the flock with six kills and eight digs on the night. James Althoff once again led CUW with three service aces. Blake Schwandt and Spencer Herman both were a part of four blocks.

The Falcons will look to get back on track on Tuesday at Lakeland.
