MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW acrobatics and tumbling team celebrated Lindsey Leonhard (Sheboygan, Wis.), Katie Mirasola (Sussex, Wis.) and Madison Schultz (Janesville, Wis.) on senior day with a season-high score of 245.645 points on Saturday. The Falcons fell to No. 5 Gannon, who scored 266.735 points and defeated Trine at 127.400 points. The Falcons finish the regular season with a 4-1 record.
The Falcons shattered their season-high score in the compulsory event with 33.00 points. CUW had a season-high score of 8.70 in the acro heat and a 9.35 score in the toss heat.
The Blue and White notched a season-best score of 26.45 in the acro heat. CUW earned season-high scored in the six-element heat and in the seven-element heat at 8.50 and 9.55 respectively.
Concordia continued to shine in the pyramid heat with 27.20 points. The Falcons tied the season-best mark of 9.15 in the inversion pyramid and finished the year with a 9.55 in the open pyramid.
CUW scored 25.20 points in the toss heat on Saturday, anchored by a season-best score of 8.80 in the open heat.
The previous high score in the tumbling event came tumbling down when CUW secured 48.125 points. The duo pass with sophomore Jessi Alexander (Plainfield, Ill.) and junior Kara Skevis (Lockport, Ill.) scored 7.900 points. The quad pass saw freshman Paityn Taormina (Geneva, Ill.), Madison Schultz, freshman April Johnston (Spokane, Wash.) and freshman Erin Wagner (Waukesha, Wis.) score a school-record 7.850 points. Kara Skevis sank her best score in the aerial pass at 7.900 points, Jessi Alexander earned 8.625 points in the six-element pass and April Johnston once again broke the school record in the open pass at 9.350 points.
The Falcons put a bow on senior day with a season-high score of 85.67 in the team event.
