RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The CUW women's lacrosse team ended its 2021 season in the NACC Tournament Semifinals. The Cougars of Concordia Chicago took the game 17-5 to have the Falcons finish the season with a record of 4-6.
Junior Kat Oryszczyn (Mukwonago, Wis.) scored the first goal of the game less than three minutes into the first half.
The Cougars took the lead with the next five goals of the game.
Kat Oryszczyn snapped the skid with a free-position goal.
Freshman Asiana Cothran (Baltimore, Md.) scored the final goal of the first half on a free-position shot.
Junior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) scored a minute into the second half to start the scoring.
Kat Oryszczyn scored the final CUW goal of the game with 11:04 remaining.
Kat Oryszczyn led the flock with three goals and four shots.
Junior Kinsey Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) picked up 12 saves on Wednesday and she also caused three turnovers.
Megan McPike won five draw controls against the Cougars.
Kat Oryszczyn, Asiana Cothran, sophomore Colleen Gilligan (Colbrone, Ont.) and freshman Olivia Niego (La Grange, Ill.) all had two ground balls.
With the win, Concordia Chicago advances to the NACC Finals at Aurora.
CUW will return to action again in 2022.
