MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons used a five-goal second half performance to jump back into a tie for first place in the NACC North Division standings. CUW improves to 4-1-0 on the year with the 5-1 victory.

The Sabres struck first on Monday, but the Falcons took control from there.

Sophomore Gilberto Gomez (Zion, Ill.) tapped in a rebound off a header to tie the game in the 21^st minute.

Gomez struck again in the 51^st minute with a low shot past the keeper off a wide-open pass from sophomore Ivan Cueller (Milwaukee, Wis.).

The Falcons capitalized on another corner four minutes later off the boot on sophomore Nick Hummel (Green Bay, Wis.) for his first collegiate point.

Gilberto Gomez secured the hat trick in the 67^th minute on a shot to the far corner.

Sophomore Joshua Shull (Evansville, Ind.) found the back of the net in the 76^th minute for his first collegiate goal off a pass from junior Bobby McNealy (Burlington, Wis.).

Senior Giampaolo Lassila (Green Bay, Wis.) iced the game with a goal with five seconds left into the upper corner off a turnover.

The Marian defense had not allowed a goal in its last three matches coming into Monday.

The Concordia defense stood tall once again on Monday. Sophomore Mattson Wick (New Berlin, Wis.) earned the victory in net with three saves. Junior Matthew Klug (Plymouth, Wis.) kept a clean sheet for the final 15 minutes and recorded one save.

The Falcons can clinch a spot in the NACC Tournament with a victory at Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday night.
