EVANSTON, Ill. – The CUW field hockey team competed against Ohio Wesleyan early on Sunday morning at Northwestern. The Battling Bishops won the contest, 3-1, to send the Falcons to 1-3 on the young season.
Ohio Wesleyan struck first with a goal in the second quarter on a penalty stroke.
Freshman Paige Armijo (Reseda, Calif.) tied the game in the 48th-minute with a shot right in front of the net off a pass from sophomore Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.).
OWU scored two goals in the final six minutes to secure the victory.
Junior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) posted a career-high 18 saves on Sunday.
Ohio Wesleyan held a 35-5 shots advantage against CUW at Northwestern. Paige Armijo led the flock with two shots.
CUW returns home on Wednesday against Oberlin.
