PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The CUW men's soccer team traveled to Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday in a non-conference matchup. The Pioneers defended home turf and walked away with a 2-1 victory.
The Pioneers found the back of the net in the fourth minute and took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Senior Nick Hummel (Green Bay, Wis.) tied the game in the 51st minute off an assist from senior Miguel Garcia (Batavia, Ill.).
The Pioneers broke the tie late with a goal in the 85th minute.
Senior Mattson Wick (New Berlin, Wis.) was kept busy on Saturday with 11 saves in net.
Junior Jacob Fuson (San Diego, Calif.) led CUW with two shots.
CUW resumes NACC play on Wednesday against Marian.
