Men's Volleyball Rewrites Record Book at WLC

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Falcons rewrote the record book on Saturday afternoon in a 3-0 victory at Wisconsin Lutheran. The Blue and White broke the program record with its 10th victory in a single season with a 25-12, 25-17, 25-12 victory over WLC.

The Falcons led wire-to-wire in the first set. The Falcons ballooned the lead up to 13 points on two occasions. Sophomore Spencer Herman (Appleton, Wis.) led the flock with four kills in the first set.

The Warriors put up a fight early in the second set and had the set tied at eight before the Falcons blew open the 15-5 run. Alex Holland had five kills in the set.

The birds scorched WLC in the third set and hit .600 in the third frame.

The CUW offense was firing on all cylinders on Saturday with a three-set record of 48 kills from 12 different Falcons. The Blue and White hot a blistering .405 as a team. The bird also finished with a program record of 62 points in a three-set match.

Freshman Kellen Gonzalez (Waukesha, Wis.) and sophomore Alex Holland (Fond du Lac, Wis.) led the match with 10 points each. Holland had a match-high nine kills.

Freshman Benjamin Groll (Oak Park Ill.), Alex Holland, freshman Judah Wiley (Cedarburg, Wis.) and freshman Kane Palmer (Kenosha, Wis.) all finished with career-high kills.

Freshman Logan Kebisek (Brookfield, Wis.) fed the offense with a match-high 20 assists, while Kane Palmer added 14.

The Falcons landed 10 service aces as a team.

Kellen Gonzales led the match with 10 of the 36 CUW digs.  

The Falcons look to push towards the NACC Tournament with the first of three matches in a four-day stretch on Wednesday against Marian.
