KENOSHA, Wis. – The 2022 season officially started on Friday evening for the CUW women's cross country team at the Wisconsin-Parkside Vic Godfrey Open. In a field that boasted prominent schools from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the Falcons finished in seventh place as a team with 205 points.
The Huskies of Michigan Tech ran to the team title with 48 points.
Freshman Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) took the title of the fastest Falcon in 33rd place, beating out runners from NCAA Divisions I, II and III at 16:18.6.
In 45th place was freshman Abigail Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.) at 16:54.5.
Senior Micah Hill (Camdenton, Mo.) secured a time of 17:10.2 in 50th place.
Sophomore Ella Stader (Oostburg, Wis.) earned a 52nd-place finish with a time of 17:11.7.
Junior Abigail Van Rixel ran a time of 17:54.3 in 59th place, three spots ahead of her sister freshman Elizabeth Van Rixel in 62nd place at 18:07.8.
Junior Holly Klomhaus clocked in at 18:42.0 in 65th place.
Junior Anessa Yim finished in 66th place at 19:22.4.
Senior MaryGrace Cleinmark (Danvers, Ill.) crossed the finish line at 19:28.9 in 67th place.
Sophomore Lauren Pichler finished the Falcon lineup with a time of 20:08.7 in 68th place.
The Falcons race again on Sept. 11 on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Ken Weidt Classic on the campus of Concordia Wisconsin.
