MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW field hockey team defended the nest against the Earlham Quakers on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons started hot with a goal only nine minutes into the game. Senior Lorri Pitock (Naperville, Ill.) from Junior Abby McGue (St. Louis, Mo.) got the Blue and White on the board. The Falcons scored off a penalty corner which McGue took.
The Blue and White did not stop there and knocked the Quakers down by two with a splash in by Senior Donna Pitock (Naperville, Ill.) in the second quarter. The jumble of Falcons around the net pulled through for a goal with an assist from Freshman Ella Maltby (Grosse Pointe, Mich.).
The Quakers did not back down and put themselves on the board in the third quarter. The Falcons did not let up their killer defense and made this the only goal for the Quakers and fought through the fourth quarter to secure their win 2-1.
