MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey team fell in the season opener on Tuesday night. The Spartans of Aurora improved to 2-1-0 on the season with a 7-0 victory.
Aurora scored twice on the power play in the first period.
The Black and Blue added four more goals in the second period.
Senior Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) collected 27 saves in the first two periods.
Junior Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) had 18 saves in the third period.
The Spartans held a 52-30 advantage in shots on Tuesday. Sophomore Charlotte Toor (Hartland, Mich.) led CUW with five shots.
The two teams start conference play on Thursday afternoon.
