GLENDALE, Wis. – The Falcons took home the Oktoberfest Cup for the second straight year Friday night, under the light at the Bavarian soccer club field with a score of 3-0.
The first half saw plenty of action but no goals.
But the Falcon faithful did not have to wait long to celebrate, as senior Jacob Fuson (San Diego, Calif.) opened the early part of the second half with a goal that was blasted from just outside the 18-yard box, giving CUW the 1-0 lead.
Minutes later, the Falcons drew a foul inside the box, triggering a penalty kick. Once again, Jacob Fuson would take and score the penalty kick, giving the Falcons the 2-0 lead early in the second half.
Senior Ivan Cuellar (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored the night's final goal after the Carroll goalkeeper bit and missed on a pass from freshman Vladimir Campos (Milwaukee, Wis.) leaving the goal wide open.
With the win, the Falcons improve to 2-1-0 and look forward to their home opener versus St. Scholastica on Sunday.
