Falcons Battle No. 3 Whitewater

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's basketball team once again showed that they will play any team, anywhere. The Falcons hosted the third-ranked Warhawks of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday night.

The Falcons scored first on Wednesday night with a jump shot for junior Ava Booth (Plymouth, Wis.).

The Warhawks showed why they are one of the best teams in the nation and held the Falcons without a point until Ava Booth drained another jumper with 2:22 left in the first quarter.

Senior Liliana Guerra (Yorkville, Ill.) made the last basket of the quarter with a three-point shot.

The Falcons scored six points over a minute span to close the first half with senior Aubrey DeBauch (Gillett, Wis.) scoring four points in the run.

The Blue and White kept things close in the third quarter against the third-ranked Warhawks and scored 12 points in the quarter. Six Falcons scored in the quarter, with Aubrey DeBauch leading with three points.

Six different Falcons scored a basket in the fourth quarter. 

A late three-point basket as time expired gave the third-ranked Warhawks the 80-37 victory. Whitewater improves to 4-0 on the young season with the victory.

The Falcons had a block party on Wednesday with seven blocks against one of the best teams in the nation. Senior Deidre Lassiter (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) finished with three blocks.

Ava Booth led the offensive charge for Concordia with 10 points, with Aubrey DeBauch finishing with nine points. Sophomore Gracie McNabb (Grafton, Wis.) had two assists on Wednesday night.

Sophomore Jayden Ross (Baraboo, Wis.) and Gracie McNabb led the flock with six rebounds.

The Falcons face another tough task on Tuesday as the Thunder of Wheaton rumble north.
