MEQUON, Wis. – The Border Battle Cup is back at home once again! After some shenanigans in Illinois, chopped the Border Battle Cup in size, the Falcons reclaimed the cup to provide it a safe home for the next year. The Falcons reclaimed the cup with a 5-4 overtime victory. The Falcons soar to 7-2-0 on the year and remain unbeaten in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association at 6-0-0.
Senior
Natalie Mackrell (Florissant, Colo.) started the scoring in the first period when she stole the puck and landed the backhanded shot into the back of the net.

Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ontario) added to the lead with a rebound off a shot from
Natalie Mackrell and a secondary assist to junior
Makayla Spejcher (Green Bay, Wis.). The goal gave Gibson the program record in career goals.
The Foresters took advantage of a five-minute major penalty and scored two goals 28 seconds apart.
Freshman
Taylor Heleniak (Mercer, Wis.) gave the Falcons the lead again late in the second period on a rebound in front of the net off assists from sophomore
Ava Litkey (Kenosha, Wis.) and senior
Savannah Hutchins (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.).
The Foresters once again spoiled the energy with a minute in the final minute of the period.
The Forester claimed their first lead of the weekend with a goal 11:01 into the third.

Saturday was the second time in the last two years that the Falcons have secured the Border Battle Cup. This is the first time that CUW has swept Lake Forest for the cup.

The Falcons held a 42-33 advantage in shots and a 38-24 advantage in faceoffs.
The 6-0-0 start is the best start to conference play for the Falcons. The previous best was 4-0-0.
The Falcons will travel to Pennsylvania for a Thanksgiving weekend clash with King's.
