ACHA Hockey Mauls Milwaukee

BROOKFIELD, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA hockey team took care of business on Friday night at Milwaukee. The Falcons cruised to a 12-0 victory to improve to 17-7 on the year and 5-2 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey League Black Division.

Senior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) started the scoring spree six minutes into the contest off assists from sophomore Owen Almburg (Glenview, Ill.) and senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.).

Freshman Rocco Cicirello (Mequon, Wis.) lit the lamp with 8:24 left in the period after assists from senior Brandon Ballweg (Woodbridge, Va.) and senior Rex Staudacher (Yorkville, Ill.).

A minute later, junior Dominic Murano (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored his first goal as a Falcon off a Rex Staudacher assist.

Rex Staudacher ended the first-period scoring with a shorthanded goal with 68 seconds left in the period.

Dominic Murano struck again in the first minute of the second period after sophomore Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) and Rex Staudacher had assists on the play.

Garrett Wilderman added to the lead 22 seconds later off a helper from Tommy Cassel.

Freshman Mason Musel (Duluth, Minn.) scored the next two goals for Concordia with Chuck Emme and freshman Evan Neitzel (Oshkosh, Wis.) having the assists on each goal.

Owen Almburg found the back of the net with 3:08 left in the period with senior Nolan Judge (Glendale, Ariz.) sending in the assist. Brandon Ballweg scored the sixth goal of the period off tic-tac-toe passes from Garrett Wilderman and Rocco Cicirello.

Chuck Emme became the ninth player to score in the second minute of the third period after freshman Tyler Reinke (Franklin, Wis.) had the assist.

Nolan Judge was the 10th and final goal scorer of the night after passes from Tommy Cassel and Garrett Wilderman.

The Falcons finished with 71 shots on Friday night.

Junior Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.) stopped all 11 shots that he faced.

The 12 goals are the most in any game for the Falcons this season. The last time CUW scored 12 goals was a 12-4 victory at Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Oct. 26, 2023.

Friday was the second time that 10 different Falcons scored in a game. The other was a 12-3 victory against Lewis on Oct. 1, 2022.

Concordia closes the weekend at home against the Panthers on Saturday night, where they will honor the seniors.
