Falcons Compete at North Central Pat Heenan Invite

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - After a lengthy winter break, the Concordia University Wisconsin track and field team returned to action at the North Central College Heenan Invitational, where they finished sixth overall out of 12 teams with 25 points. Host North Central College dominated the meet, securing the top spot with an impressive 221 points.

Junior Brandon Donahue (Slinger, Wis.) earned a top-10 finish in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 9.32 seconds to place eighth.

Senior Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) added two points to the Falcons' tally in the 1-mile, finishing with a time of 4:32.38.

Continuing his strong career, senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) earned silver in the 3,000-meter, posting a time of 8:48.69 to score eight points for CUW.

The Falcons also shined in the 4x400-meter relay, with freshmen Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) and Kam'Ron Pierre (Santa Clarita, Calif.), sophomore Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.), and Lubner teaming up to win gold. Their time of 3:33.73 earned them first place and valuable points for the team.

Mathes also contributed in the triple jump, where his leap of 12.64 meters netted four more points for CUW's overall total.

Next weekend, the Falcons will head south to Illinois to compete in the Aurora Grand Prix.
