CHICAGO, Ill. - On Saturday, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's track and field team traveled south to compete at the Aurora Grand Prix at the Gately Indoor Track & Field Complex, marking their second meet of the 2025 indoor season. The competition featured familiar faces, as several Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) teams participated, alongside NCAA Division I and II schools, including Illinois Chicago and Purdue Northwest.
Sophomore Thomas James Jr. (Houston, Texas) led the Falcons in the 60-meter dash, clocking in at 7.28 seconds. Junior Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.) paced the Falcons in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 9.45 seconds.
Sophomore Josh Sipes (Charleston, Ill.) set a personal record in the 200-meter, crossing the finish line in 25.04 seconds. In the 400-meter, freshman Kam'Ron Pierre (Santa Clarita, Calif.) posted a team-best time of 54.20 seconds and also led CUW in the long jump with a mark of 6.07 meters.
Sophomore Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) earned three team points for the Falcons in the 800-meter by finishing sixth with a time of 1:59.40.
In the mile, senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) set a personal best, finishing with a time of 4:24.44, earning a top-10finish.
In the pole vault, sophomore Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Falcons with a clearance of 2.75 meters, good for ninth place overall.
The throwing events saw freshman Hayden Kettmann (Beecher, Ill.) lead the team in the shot put with a mark of 11.40 meters, while senior John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) paced CUW in the weight throw with a throw of 11.95 meters.
Freshman Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) also impressed, posting a season-best mark of 12.32 meters in the triple jump.
The Falcons will next compete at the Whitewater Squig Converse Open, scheduled for January 31st and February 1st.
