Falcons Held Scoreless Against Stars

RIVER FORREST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team fell, 0-1, to Dominican in a close game on Wednesday evening. This was the first conference loss for the Falcons who are now, 4-4-3, overall and, 3-1, in the NACC.
 
Dominican was in control of the ball for a majority of the game getting off 31 shots, 13 on goal. Falcons' junior goalie Kara Claussner was determined in the net, only letting in one goal and making 12 saves.
 
Leading the team on the offense was freshman Gabbie Hetzel (Germantown, Wis.). Hetzel had four shots to her name, three of which where on goal. Sophomore Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) was able to get off four shots. Overall the Falcons had 11 shots, six on goal.
 
Despite today's loss CUW still holds the edge over Dominican. The Falcons lead the all-time series, 15-10-2, over the stars.
 
Concordia returns to their home turf with a match-up against Edgewood on Saturday Oct. 4. The Falcons will also celebrate senior day before the contest. The game is slated to begin at 12:20 p.m.
