MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball team put on a show for the large Homecoming crowd on Saturday afternoon with a 25-15, 25-16, 25-16 victory. The Falcons improve to 6-11 on the year and 3-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
The Falcons jumped on the Raiders early and never looked back. The serve of senior Ashley Habermehl (Brookfield, Wis.) and senior Noelle Smith (Davenport, Iowa) quickly put the Falcons up 7-1. CUW cruised to a 25-15 victory in the set.
Concordia trailed early in the second set at 3-2, but quickly righted the ship. Leading 13-10, the serve of senior Brianna Lundt (Rosendale, Wis.) blistered the Raiders with three aces and elevated the lead to 18-10, before taking the set at 25-16.
The Falcons led wire-to-wire in the third set. The Raiders held tough, but a Brianna Lundt service run led the Falcons on a 7-0 run to break away.
The trio of Noelle Smith, Ashley Habermehl and senior Abby Proefrock (Grafton, Wis.) all had seven kills.
Brianna Lundt had another banner day with 15 digs, four service aces and four assists.
Sophomore McKenna Oetzman (Reedsburg, Wis.) had 14 assist and three service aces in the victory.
Noelle Smith led the match with seven blocks.
The Falcons resume NACC action on Tuesday at St. Norbert.
