Falcons Fall at NACC Favorites

MADISON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball team traveled to Edgewood in a rematch of the 2024 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Championship Match. The Eagles walked away with a 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 25-17 victory to improve to 11-6 and 4-0 in the NACC.

The Eagles led the first set wire-to-wire on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons clipped the lead to three points on two occasions at 13-10 and 17-14, but could not get any closer.

Edgewood broke the second set open with a 9-1 to take an 18-10 lead. The Blue and White continued to chip away at the lead and a service ace from sophomore Madison Cimbalnik (Sturtevant, Wis.) cut the lead to 24-23, but Edgewood took the set with the next point.

The Falcons leapt out to a big lead in the third set with a 6-0 run that was capped off with a service ace from senior Brianna Lundt (Rosendale, Wis.). Edgewood quickly stormed back and took the lead at 15-14. The Falcons reclaimed the lead at 16-15 and never looked back. A kill from sophomore Kayla Mulder (Whitehall, Mich.) ended the set at 25-22.

Edgewood took the lead in the fourth set at 4-3, and did not give the lead back the rest of the afternoon.

Senior Abby Proefrock (Grafton, Wis.) led the Falcons with nine kills. Senior Noelle Smith (Davenport, Iowa) hit 0.438 in the match with seven kills.

Junior Emily Dickmann (Grafton, Wis.) and sophomore McKenna Oetzman (Reedsburg, Wis.) both had 17 assists on Saturday, Oetzman also led the Falcons with two service aces.

The trio of Brianna Lundt, McKenna Oetzman and Abby Proefrock all had 14 digs on Saturday.

Senior Paige Stickney (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and Noelle Smith both had four blocks.

The Falcons will face another tough test on Thursday at Aurora.
