MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team sent the Falcon faithful home happy after a victory over Lawrence in the home opener. The Falcons improve to 1-1 and close the fall season with the 6-1 victory over the Vikings.
Sophomore Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) and freshman Michael Rios (Chicago, Ill.) ran down Cristian Torres and Jonathan Myszka at No. 3 doubles, 6-0.
Freshman Gustavo Funo (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) and freshman Renan Botelho (Itatiba, Brazil) clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Freshman Murilo Zeni (Curitiba, Brazil) and junior Renan Revite (Sao Bernardo do campo, Brazil) cleaned up the doubles sweep with a 6-3 victory on court one.
Renan Botelho made quick work of Devin Guns at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Gustavo Funo defeated Jonathan Myszka at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Michael Rios wrapped up Cristian Torres at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Renan Revite downed Owen Horton at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Hayden Latus bounced Benjamin Hoppe at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
The Vikings picked up their lone point at No. 1 singles to close the day.
The Falcons will return to action in January in Minnesota against Saint Mary's.
