Men's Basketball Rolls Dominican, 81-55

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's basketball team earned its largest victory of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Dominican 81-55 in NACC action at R. John Buuck Field House.

The 26-point win marks the Falcons' biggest margin this year and their largest since a 26-point road victory at Benedictine on Feb. 22, 2024. CUW improves to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The two conference foes traded baskets throughout the opening half before the Falcons closed the period on a 10-2 run to take a 43-35 lead into the break. Javanni Blackman (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the spurt with five points as CUW gained momentum heading into halftime.

Concordia Wisconsin maintained control throughout the second half, highlighted by an 18-2 run midway through the period. Over a span of 5:12, the Falcons shot 6-of-7 from the field and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Five different players contributed during the run, with senior Logan Landers (Cedarburg, Wis.) scoring eight points and junior Jaden Guyton (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) adding four.

Dominican attempted to respond with nine unanswered points following the surge, but the Stars were unable to close the gap. CUW sealed the victory by holding Dominican scoreless over the final 2:47 of play.

Landers led all scorers with 25 points and seven rebounds, shooting an efficient 8-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-10 at the free-throw line. Guyton recorded a career-high 14 points while knocking down 2-of-3 attempts from beyond the arc. Blackman added a season-high 13 points to finish in double figures and led the Falcons with four assists.

The Falcons will close the first half of the season at the Wisconsin Dells D3 Invitational this weekend. CUW will open play against No. 3 UW–La Crosse on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Justagame Fieldhouse, before facing either No. 8 Calvin or Augustana on Saturday.
