MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA hockey team closed the weekend on Saturday night against the Sault College Cougars. After the Falcons won the Friday contest, 4-3, the Cougars leveled the weekend with a 5-2 victory on Saturday.
The Falcons welcomed youth hockey players from the area and the Ozaukee Youth Hockey Association for youth hockey night.
The Cougars scored the first four goals of the contest on Saturday night.
Senior Andrew Malek (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored on the power play with assists from senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and sophomore Dominic Murano (Milwaukee, Wis.).
Two minutes later, Dominic Murano sniped a shot into the back of the net on another power play off a feed from freshman Jackson Lord (Mequon, Wis.).
The Cougars scored an empty net goal in the final minute of the game to end it.
Senior Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.) had 20 saves on Saturday.
The Falcons will return to action on Jan. 9 at Schoolcraft.
