CUW Duo Finishes Decathlon at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's track & field team had two student-athletes compete in the Augustana Meet of Champions on Friday. The Falcons finished the two-day competition in the decathlon.

Sophomore Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) finished eighth out of the 25 competitors with 5772 points, and senior Jacob Couillard (Kingsford, Mich.) was 17th with 4202 points.

Zach Wendland led the flock in the 110-meter hurdles in 12th place at 16.77. Jacob Couillard had a season-best time at 18.48 in 17th place.

Zach Wendland was second in the 1500-meter run with a career-best time of 4:37.77. Jacob Couillard was in 18th place at 6:21.84

Jacob Couillard had a season-best mark of 28.94 meters in the discus throw in 11th place, just ahead of Zach Wendland in 12th place at 28.35 meters.

Jacob Couillard finished eighth in the pole vault competition at 3.50 meters, and Zach Wendland was 11th at 3.20 meters.

In the javelin competition, Zach Wendland placed seventh with a season-best mark of 44.02 meters, and Jacob Couillard placed 16th with a career-best mark of 34.87 meters.

The Falcons compete again on April 26 at the St. Norbert College Invite.
