Falcons Gear Up for NACC Champions at St. Norbert Invite

DE PERE, Wis. - In preparation for next week's Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Championships, the Concordia University Wisconsin men's track and field team traveled to St. Norbert to compete in the St. Norbert Invitational.

Although no team scores were kept, the Falcons delivered a strong showing, recording 13 top-eight finishes across a variety of events.

Freshman Jalen Pressley (Leesburg, Fla.) led the Falcons in the sprints, finishing seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.10 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles, junior Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.) placed eighth, crossing the line in 16.20 seconds.

In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Josh Sipes (Charleston, Ill.) posted a personal best of 58.64 seconds, securing fourth place.

The Falcons shined in the 800-meter run, with two personal records. Sophomore Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) claimed first overall with a time of 1:53.67, while senior Zach Leahy (East Dundee, Ill.) took third at 1:55.67.

Senior Timmy Brey (Cedarburg, Wis.) continued his consistent season, winning the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:42.67.

In the 3000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Riley Johnson (Hanover, Ind.) recorded a personal best of 11:09.25.

Senior John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) led the Falcons in the hammer throw, registering a mark of 43.58 meters.

The javelin event saw a dominant performance from CUW, with four athletes finishing in the top eight. Senior Holter Gette (Batavia, Ill.) led the group with a second-place throw of 55.66 meters, followed by freshman Justin Clark (Goodyear, Ariz.) in third at 46.96 meters. Freshman Clayton Nichols (Oconomowoc, Wis.) placed fourth with a personal-best mark of 42.14 meters, and junior Nick Taylor (West Bend, Wis.) finished seventh at 40.08 meters.

In the triple jump, freshman Lucas Mathes (Brillion, Wis.) added another top-eight finish for CUW, recording a leap of 13.04 meters.

The Falcons will now turn their attention to the NACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, returning to St. Norbert next week. Last season, CUW finished fifth overall with 50 points.
