Falcons Soar Past Eagles at Edgewood

VERONA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's lacrosse team took care of business in the final road trip of the 2025 regular season on Saturday. The Falcons overwhelmed Edgewood with a 22-9 victory to improve to 9-7 on the season and 7-3 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The Falcons scored six goals in the first seven minutes of the game. The scoring started with goals from junior Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.), senior Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.), and sophomore Tyler Husby (Eagan, Minn.).

Sophomore Bryce Petersen (Waukesha, Wis.) then scored the next three goals of the contest.

After Edgewood scored with 7:01 left in the first quarter, senior Michael Lange (Brookfield, Wis.) scored off an assist from senior Max Esposito (Gaithersburg, Md.).

Preston Meier scored two goals in the final two minutes of the quarter to give the Falcons a 9-1 lead.

Concordia went on a 7-0 scoring spree in the second quarter. Bryce Petersen and Gio Nowotarski both had two goals, while Max Esposito, Preston Meier, and Tyler Husby all found the back of the net to give the Falcons a 16-1 lead at halftime.

Max Esposito opened the scoring in the third quarter with 13:41 left on the clock.

After an Edgewood goal, CUW responded with goals from Preston Meier, freshman Jackson Knutson (Roseville, Minn.), Gio Nowotarski, and Max Esposito.

Edgewood scored the final goal of the third quarter to cut the Concordia lead to 21-3.

With 12:48 left in the game, Chase Drexler joined the scoring spree.

Max Esposito led the flock with eight points on three goals and five assists.

Preston Meier and Bryce Petersen both finished with five goals and two assists.

Sophomore Jaxon Hill (Bismarck, N.D.) once again dominated the faceoff circle, winning 14 of 15. Junior Frank Trewyn (Mukwonago, Wis.) won nine of his 15. Hill also led the Falcons with seven ground balls in the victory.

Sophomore Travis Marquardt (Brookfield, Wis.) earned the victory in the net and had four saves on five shots faced. Freshman Nolan O'Malley (Chicago, Ill.) had six saves.

Concordia claimed a 59-31 advantage in shots.

The Falcons close out the regular season on Wednesday afternoon against the Raiders of the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
