DES MOINES, Iowa – Another record fell for the Concordia Wisconsin women's track & field team on Thursday night at the world-famous Drake Relays. In a field filled with NCAA Division I runners, Ainara Sainz de Rozas finished in the top 10 in the 5000-meter run.
A junior from Madrid, Spain, Ainara Sainz de Rozas broke her second school record in the last week.
She finished in ninth place to lead all non-NCAA Division III runners at 16:41.05.
Amanda Kuca set the school record at North Central on May 18, 2006, with a time of 16:50.3.
On Friday, she broke the school record in the 10000-meter run, another record that had been held by Kuca.
Sainz de Rozas was one of four NCAA Division III student-athletes in the race. Peyton Steffen of Central was 10th and Amelia Lehman of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Deyanneira Colon Maldanado of Aurora did not finish.
The Falcons will compete again on Friday at the Drake Relays.
