Falcons Wrap Up Regular Season at St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. - With the NACC Outdoor Championships quickly approaching, the Concordia University Wisconsin women's track and field team traveled to St. Norbert for one final tune-up at the St. Norbert Invitational.

While no team scores were recorded, the Falcons turned in strong performances across a wide range of events.

In the 100-meter dash, freshman Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) placed second with a time of 12.91 seconds, followed closely by senior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) in fourth at 12.98 seconds. Moore also added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line in 27.10 seconds.

The hurdles group continued its impressive season, earning two top-eight finishes in the 100-meter hurdles. Senior Maya Hielscher (Macomb, Mich.) finished third with a time of 15.35 seconds, while sophomore Emma Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) secured seventh at 16.34 seconds.

Eilertson also claimed gold in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters. In the same event, Read and senior Ashley Burk (Watertown, Wis.) tied for seventh with clearances of 1.45 meters.

In the 400-meter hurdles, sophomore Olivia Bel (Mt. Clemens, Mich.) raced to a second-place finish, clocking in at 1:09.12.

Junior Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) led CUW in the 800-meter run, taking sixth with a season-best time of 2:21.17. Fellow junior Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) impressed in the 1500-meter run, finishing fourth with a time of 4:54.22.

The Falcons found additional success in the javelin. Hielscher finished second with a throw of 35.63 meters, followed by senior Jamie Maas (West Bend, Wis.) in fourth at 33.74 meters. Senior Paige Schreiber (Mukwonago, Wis.) added an eighth-place finish at 28.16 meters.

Freshman Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Dam, Wis.) highlighted the field events by setting a personal record in the long jump with a leap of 5.17 meters. Jackson also led the Falcons in the triple jump, securing sixth place with a jump of 10.90 meters.

Next up, the Falcons return to St. Norbert for the NACC Outdoor Championships, aiming to build on last season's third-place finish, where they totaled 145.83 points.
