MEQUON, Wis. – It was a joyous day on Sunday afternoon on the shores of Lake Michigan for the Concordia Wisconsin softball team. The Falcons honored the senior class of 2025 on Sunday and celebrated with two victories over Wisconsin Lutheran. The Blue and White beat up WLC 8-0 in game one and closed the day with a 5-3 victory. The victories propel the Falcons to 25-9 on the year and to 16-4 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Senior Jess Pozezinski (Lake Villa, Ill.) wasted no time getting the senior day festivities started and crushed the ball over the left-field fence with the leadoff at bat in the first inning.
The Warriors threatened in the second inning, but senior Jasmine Freeze (Bolingbrook, Ill.) ended the threat with a strikeout.
Senior Megan Bloyer (Oregon, Wis..) had some fun on senior day with a home run of her own in the third inning to right field that also scored sophomore Jenna Shadoski (Janesville, Wis.).
In the fourth inning, senior Kiana Marie Taccad (Chicago, Ill.) sent the ball through the left side of the infield, which scored junior Rylie DuVal (Elgin, Ill.) from second base.
Later in the inning, Megan Bloyer struck again with a single off the fence in left field that landed Kiana Marie Taccad and junior Taylor Jacobson (Kenosha, Wis.) to safely cross home plate.
The game ended in the sixth inning when junior Nora Statz (Helenville, Wis.) singled through the left side of the infield and Jenna Shadoski and Jess Pozezinski scored to trigger the eight-run rule.
Jess Pozezinski, Megan Bloyer, Nora Statz and Taylor Jacobson all had two hits in game one.
Jasmine Freeze only allowed three hits in game one and had four strikeouts in her seventh victory of the season.
Jess Pozezinski started game two with another leadoff home run to right field to start the scoring.
Wisconsin Lutheran had its first run of the day in the second inning with a sacrifice fly.
Megan Bloyer continued to terrorize the Warriors in the third inning with a double to left field that scored Jenna Shadoski and sophomore Jenna Lischka (Manitowoc, Wis.).
In the fourth inning, Jenna Shadoski sent a spicy shot to first base and scored Jenna Lischka and sophomore Kaitlyn Way (Blaine, Minn.).
The Warriors bit into the CUW lead with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, but sophomore Kylie Van de Loo (Menasha, Wis.) froze the WLC bats and earned her first save and had three strikeouts.
Sophomore Emma Shellstrom (San Diego, Calif.) earned her 10th victory of the season and had two strikeouts.
The Warriors never learned not to run on the Falcons, and Megan Bloyer tossed out both would-be base stealers on Sunday to Jess Pozezinski.
After the games, the Falcons honored Megan Bloyer, Jess Pozezinski, Jasmine Freeze, Kiana Marie Taccad, Adrianna Martinez and Taylor Jacobson.
Heading into the final week of the season, the Falcons stand alone in second place at 16-4 in the NACC. Dominican is a game up on the Falcons at 17-3. CUW is two games up on Concordia Chicago in third place at 14-6. The Falcons travel to Lakeland (10-8) on Tuesday and close the regular season at home on Sunday against Concordia Chicago.
