MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin men's tennis team closed the 2024–25 season with an 11-10 overall record and a 4-2 mark in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play, finishing third in the standings and advancing to the NACC Tournament Semifinals. The campaign was defined by a veteran-led lineup, a standout freshman debut, and dominant wins that highlighted the team's depth and consistency.
The Falcons opened the fall with a strong showing at the DePauw Invitational and competitive performances at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships. Senior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and freshman Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) earned early singles victories, while three doubles teams advanced deep into the Midwest Open draw.
Spring competition began with tight losses at Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wisconsin-La Crosse, followed by CUW's first win of the year — a 4-3 battle over Wartburg. Sather, Latus, Ryan Bilan (Greendale, Wis.), and Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) each recorded singles victories. The Falcons followed with a thrilling 4-3 win at Wheaton, sealed by a three-set comeback from sophomore Renan Revite (São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil), who was named NACC Player of the Week.
CUW carried that momentum to Florida over spring break, posting wins over Alma (6-1) and Wentworth (7-0) and individual victories against Anderson and Rose-Hulman. Klement was named NACC Student-Athlete of the Week after going 3-1 in doubles and winning back-to-back singles matches.
The Falcons dominated the start of conference play with a 7-0 win over Wisconsin Lutheran. That victory sparked a run of three more 7-0 sweeps over St. Norbert, Concordia Chicago, and Lakeland. CUW later added another clean sweep at Edgewood, improving to 4-1 in conference play.
Despite a loss to NACC champion MSOE in the regular season finale, CUW bounced back with a commanding 4-0 win over Edgewood in the NACC Quarterfinals. Sather and Klement led the way at No. 1 doubles, while Revite and junior Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) clinched the match with singles wins.
The Falcons' season ended in a 4-1 semifinal loss to Illinois Tech. Sather capped his career with a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles, while Klement and Nadolski were leading in their respective matches when play was called.
CUW received multiple postseason honors. Freshman Hayden Latus was named NACC Freshman of the Year after posting a 5-1 singles record in conference play and going 9-7 at No. 2 singles overall. Sather earned All-NACC Singles honors for the fourth straight season with a 4-2 conference mark, and he and Klement were named to the All-NACC Doubles Team after going 12-8 overall and 5-1 in league play.
Off the court, Sather, Klement, and Nadolski were named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, each earning the honor for the second consecutive year.
With a strong returning core and a talented group of underclassmen, the Falcons are well positioned to make another postseason push in 2025–26.
