Chappel's Hat Trick Secures Falcons' Win Over Pointers

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer defeated UW-Stevens Point, 5-3, in a hard-fought battle. This is the first win of the 2025 campaign for the Falcons.

Freshman Koffy'e Chappel (Oakland, Cali.) had an outstanding day on the pitch. Chappel scored her first career goal and went on to complete a hat trick. The California native's first goal was a breakaway goal in the 22nd minute to give the Falcons the lead. Chappel's second and third goal came five minutes apart. At the 55-minute mark, sophomore Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) placed the ball for Chappel to score. The freshman's final was assisted by senior Brei Rozmairek (West De Pere, Wis.).

Read score the first goal of the game, also off a breakaway. This is the sophomore's fifth goal of the year. Rozmiarek's goal in the 68th minute was the cushion the Falcons needed to win the game. This was the seniors first goal of the 2025 campaign.

Junior goalkeeper Kara Claussner (St. Charles, Ill.) stood strong in front of the net. Despite letting in three goals, Claussner collected 11 saves off of 37 shots from the Pointers.

The Falcons are no strangers to a five-goal game. Last season, CUW defeated NACC foe Benedictine, 5-1, on Sept. 18th. This was also a redemption win for Concordia. Coming into the game UW-Stevens Point had the, 2-0, advantage over the Falcons in the all-time series.

CUW will begin conference play against Benedictine on the road on September 17th. The team will travel to Lisle, Ill. Wednesday for a 7 p.m. first kick.
