GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball team opened a busy weekend at Greenville on Thursday night. The Panthers picked up a 25-15, 23-25, 25-21, 28-26 victory to send the Falcons to 3-7 on the year.
The Panthers were playing their first home match sinch clinching a spot in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and cruised to a 25-15 victory in the first set.
The Orange and Black another early lead in the second set and held a 10-5 lead. The Falcons fought back and took the lead at 14-12 lead with back-to-back service aces from junior Emily Dickmann (Grafton, Wis.). The set came down to the wire at 23-23 and a pair of attacking errors gave the Falcons the set at 25-23.
Greenville broke free from Concordia with a 6-2 run in the third set to build a 19-15 lead. The Panthers applied pressure with a 25-21 victory in the third set.
The Falcons had a set point in the fourth set at 24-22 with a service ace from Emily Dickmann, but the Falcons could not capitalize and the Panthers ended the match at 28-26.
Junior Skylar Kumprey (New Berlin, Wis.) led the Falcons with 13 kills on Thursday night.
Senior Brianna Lundt (Rosendale, Wis.) brought in a match-high 26 digs.
Senior Paige Stickney (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) secured 11 kills, seven blocks and three service aces.
Sophomore McKenna Oetzman (Reedsburg, Wis.) led CUW with 23 assists and Emily Dickmann had a match-high five service aces.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday against No. 7 Washington (Mo.).
