MADISON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA Hockey team completed its opening weekend on Saturday morning against the Wisconsin Badgers. After the Falcons picked up the Friday night victory, the Badgers evened the weekend series with a 6-5 overtime victory.
The Badgers opened the game with three goals in the first period.
Wisconsin pushed the lead up to 4-0 with an early second-period goal.
Junior Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) put the Falcons on the scoreboard off assists from senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and senior McCarthy Clark (Chicago, Ill.).
Senior Andrew Malek (Milwaukee, Wis.) then struck again in the final seconds of the second period with Austin Bartell adding the assist.
Chuck Emme netted his second goal of the game in the third period with Wilderman assisting on that goal.
Senior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) tied the game minutes later off a Wyatt Wilderman assist.
Chuck Emme scored his third goal of the game to give the Falcons the lead.
Wisconsin scored late in the period and then claimed the victory with an overtime goal.
The Falcons open Northern Collegiate Hockey League play on Friday against DePaul.
