MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team fell to No. 14 UW-La Crosse, 2-9, Saturday afternoon. This was the seventh non-conference game between the two teams. The Eagles have the edge over the Falcons, leading the all-time series, 6-1.
Senior
Shay Lange (Racine, Wis.) had the first goal of the game for the Falcons. At the 14-minute mark, she was able to send the ball into the net with help from sophomore
Hailey Whittow (Menomonee Falls, Wis.). This was the first goal of the season for Lange and her 10th in her career.
Whittow picked up her second goal of the season 74 minutes into the game. The sophomore was able to break away from UW-La Crosse's defense for an unassisted goal. This was the third goal in Whittow's young career with the Falcons.
The Falcons finished with 10 shots, seven on goal. Sophomore
Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) led the team with four, two of which were on goal. In goal was junior
Kara Claussner (St. Charles, Ill.), who faced 37 shots and made 14 saves.
The Falcons have a quick turnaround, facing Lake Forrest on Monday, Sept. 29. The squad will travel to Lake Forest, Ill., with the match slated to begin at 4:30 p.m.
