Falcons Battle Undefeated Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team wrapped up non-conference play on Monday afternoon at undefeated Lake Forest. The Foresters improved to 11-0-0 on the year with a 4-1 victory to send the Falcons to 4-3-3.

The Foresters were the first team to apply pressure to the net on Monday night, but junior Kara Claussner (St. Charles, Ill.) came up with some key saves for Concordia.

Junior Lanie Czerkies (Joliet, Ill.)  had a good look in the 18th minute that missed to the right.

The Red and White struck first with a goal in the 22nd minute to take the lead.

Senior Shay Lange (Racine, Wis.) had a shot in the 43rd minute to apply some pressure, but was saved.

Lake Forest held a 1-0 lead at the break.

The Falcons continued to fight and broke even in the 62nd minute off the boot of senior Brei Rozmiarek (West De Pere, Wis.).

The Rozmiarek goal was only the seven goal Lake Forest had allowed on the season.

The Foresters responded with goals in the 65th, 77th and 90th minutes to preserve the victory.

Lake Forest held a 27-5 advantage in shots on Monday.

Kara Claussner collected nine saves on the evening.

The Falcons shift their attention to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) as they resume conference play on Wednesday at Dominican. Concordia Wisconsin is one of three undefeated teams in NACC play at 3-0-0. The Stars are tied with the Falcons in the standings with nine points at 3-1-0.
